Higher UpStream/DownStream speeds - hot weather?

I'm not complaining!
My connection speeds have been steadily increasing it appears:
DownStream Connection Speed 18998 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed       1171 kbps
Is this because of the hot weather? I'm on an EO line ...
Does a Download speed (SpeedTest) of 15.5Mb/s sound about right?
Any thoughts or comments?
Kind Regards and Many Thanks
Hugh

Re: Higher UpStream/DownStream speeds - hot weather?

It's not impossible that it could be due to the hot weather.
I'm imagining a scenario where there's an issue with a poor cabling joint on the phone network and the cable could expand and "improve" the connection in higher than usual temperatures.
I doubt we'd ever be able to know for certain but that's my theory.

Yes, speed test results of 80-83% of sync speed are typical. Your BT IP Profile and Member Centre Current line speed should be 16.7Mbps. The IP Profile is the idealised maximum without any allowance for connection management.
