High pings

Hi
After my d link router went belly up  i was sent a thompson tg585 v7.
Set up was easy , but i have two problems, my ping times in the servers i use have jumped from around 50 ms to anything up to 1500 ms.
Secondly (probably me being a doof) where do i find my router stats? i cant seem to find any details from the thompson.
I have run speed tests which seem fine

Are you connecting wirelessly to your router, or via an ethernet cable? Looking at the ping times to your router, I would say it's wireless...

Hi there,
Your traceroute looks absolutely fine.
The only delay is the first hop to your router, which is perfectly normal.
What do you see when doing a traceroute to one of the servers that you use?

Have no idea how to trace route to just an ip .
At the moment the pings to the ip addy look fine but during the evening pings go mental and I'm usually kicked for high ping

You just type the IP address instead.
For example: tracert 232.163.75.32
(I just made that one up :p)

Okay, that still looks fine.
Try doing a traceroute when you're having problems and also try pinging the IP address directly.

without checking - I think that is the Ellacoya step which has the higher ping

No problem ,it wont be until later tonight .
Is there a way to trace to a certain port as every time i try it fails.

Sorry I've not been able to get on the last couple of nights(work >:()
It seems the problem is on certain ports.we run four servers (same ip different ports) two servers are fine but at night my pings can reach over 4000ms
No one else seems to have problems so i take it its something my end.

Sounds like time for a wireshark capture
My guess is that the non-standard ports are not being classified correctly by the Ellacoyas.
