Help with upload speeds

I can't even pretend to understand any technical terms so can any answers be easy for me to understand please   Embarrassed

Until recently my up and download speeds were fine, this last couple of weeks though I cannot get any uploads to go over 11kb/s, no matter where I upload to or what time of day, even in uncapped hours. Download speeds aren't an issue I schedule them for overnight.
Twelve hours to upload a 150mb file is ridiculous, especially if my connection drops more then a few times on an upload, most times I cannot resume and after three or four attempts I'm literally at screaming point !!!
I've run some speedtests and they show what upload speed I'm getting/should be getting, should be more than a top speed of 11kb surely?
Can anyone tell me how I can sort this please.   Thankyou.

Re: Help with upload speeds

Are you using a Plusnet supplied TG585v8 router using a wireless connection to your computer?
It would help non-Plusnet staff to comment if you could post the information listed here http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,96155.0.html?

Try a speed test using an ethernet cable and answer the above question  Smiley

Re: Help with upload speeds

Well thats more like it.
Known  issue with this router  Sad read this thread http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,92497.msg874566.html#msg874566
the link above takes you to page 18, but if you have a spare 2-3 hours read the whole thread  Wink
I would send a PM (private message) to one of the plusnet staff (MY MESSAGES >> New Message)above asking them to look at this thread, they may then get onto you sometime tomorrow.

Re: Help with upload speeds

I expect a member of the Digital Care Team will pop in here sometime tomorrow without needing a prompt via PM. In any case it's always possible that whoever you choose could be away or busy elsewhere so best not to follow that approach.

Re: Help with upload speeds

Hi jen,
Unfortunately the wireless upload issue is known, though it only affects certain wireless cards (unfortunately your PC must have one of them).
I've added a v7 router to your account and posted this out, it should be with you in the next couple of days. The v7 isn't affected in the same way, I'm happy to say.
Please let us know if this doesn't sort things for you, though it certainly should do.
