Thanks Tony. Could you look at why I'm currently getting a low d/l speed of 6mb despite profiles seemingly being aligned ?

What is the noise on the line like?  Please keep the stats running.
I would still expect line issues; though you got a fix, I would suspect that if there was one bad joint, there could be others.  Line stats look good, will look in more detail tomorrow.

Kevin.
Decided to restart the connection (PPP) and on re-connect I am hitting speeds of over 18mb. Other stats all still remain good. Steady 5.8 sync. No noise on the line.
Will keep router stats application running to keep a close eye on this. It's been perfectly fine since the engineer visit so perhaps yesterday was a minor unrelated blip....
