Help - New Fibre install

I need some help. I had fibre installed today, engineer came, installed faceplates and new openreach modem. Connected and said all working the DSL light is green. However I have no internet. Phoned support they say won't be turned on until Engineer files his report. It was 3rd party engineer and considering his job sheet for the day was a hand written sheet of paper I don't hold out any chance of that getting filed today!
I'm trying to work on my day off for the install but having to tether to do so.... Is there not anyway the service can be activated without this chap filing his hand written sheet!! Help
