Heavy user?

Is someone who uses 150 GB a month considered a heavy user these days?

Re: Heavy user?

We did 437.98GB in the last billing period and 107.42GB last week alone.
Plusnet Business FTTC line at home.
We seem to do 250GB + most months.

Can anybody beat the previous post?!?
I actually find it difficult to work out how one user or even a large family could use that much data in a month.

Re: Heavy user?

In theory, I could put through 1TB a day if I was maxing out my line.

Re: Heavy user?

I'm a light user at around 700/800GB a month Wink

I suspect a HD stream in Netflix is around 4GB (Assuming 5 - 7 MBit/s bitrate) streaming, Sky Go is a lower bitrate but I'm sure some people forget to switch it off
Games are now approaching 20GB.
HD Video from a decent source can be 50GB plus.
Offsite backups can generate a lot of data if the contents of one's hard-drive is constantly changing.
Shifting virtual machines can go through hundreds of GB at a time although I'd expect that to be more a business use than a residential connection.

Re: Heavy user?

My usage is mostly streaming, usually in HD and I do perform offsite backups. I love not having to worry in the slightest about usage and can confirm I have never experienced any slow downs at peak times.
The usage page doesn't seem to capture all the data flowing through the WAN, router shows around 200-300GB more, not sure why!

Re: Heavy user?

680GB so far this month, on a business connection. Mainly down to off-site backups and client file sharing. Will probably hit 1TB before the end of the month, and I would call that around average!
I remember when my 512kbps cable modem connection was completely revolutionary... Now, I would be upset if I got that slow a connection on my 4G phone!  Cheesy
