Today I noticed that my router has synched at over 9Mbps. Thats significantly higher than I've ever seen it before. Its usually a little over 8Mbps. I also noticed that the SNR has also decreased to 3dB. This is lower than I've seen. i re-synched a few times and the router synched up with the same numbers.
So, is there a plan to reduce the noise margin in preference to higher synch speeds?

This is the automatic system in the exchange
You must be fortunate and have a line which will hold those speeds without to many errors or disconnections
The default noise margins set at the exchange are 3dB, 6dB, 9dB etc.

Thanks, that makes sense to me.
My line must have improved with age since I have been on 6dB for years and not changed a thing in the house at my end. Maybe its a fluke of the weather....?
