Re: Has the BT speedtester changed

Well it eventually worked, on a second attempt - no change there then  Angry
I can see the boards and the CSC getting more queries from those that miss the tick box and also want their Service ID  Roll_eyes
As for the acceptable range, well looks like its just another excuse for dodging any speed faults  Shocked

Re: Has the BT speedtester changed

Still hangs under Firefox on Linux, to the point of me having to terminate FF and restart it.

Re: Has the BT speedtester changed

With this new tester does the speed test go anywhere near the Plusnet speed restriction.
I ask because my profile has just recovered from 3000 to 3500 (Plusnet haven't caught up yet) but the BT speedtest result is what I would expect from a 3000 profile.

Re: Has the BT speedtester changed

Does anyone fancy generating a library article on "How to do a BT Speedtest" on various Operating Systems (if applicable? :))

Re: Has the BT speedtester changed

I could only do it for Windows systems - and it is self explanatory for them once you spot the little tick box - and a sticky would probably cover that..
Actually on second thoughts should it be part of the Plusnet Help System given that they (well BT) insist on 3 tests before a fault will be accepted.
Either way I can do one for windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and then someone else could add the Mac and *nix bits as that is where the problems are more likely to appear since the BT programmers probably didn't check on the various options.
Note to self - check if it needs Java still

Re: Has the BT speedtester changed

Can't start yet as I need to wait 3 hours before I can do another test and take the screenshots.
Also I want to check what needs to be put on the second screen as the only bit which is mandatory is the usename and not the plusdsl.net
I want to try it with java and javascript disabled first.
At least it doesn't use flash
