Half the speed of estimate

Hi,
I have already raised a ticket for this problem with the faults team and have had an engineer call to the house to check the line twice and all is good 80/20. Since changing to fibre I have noticed that my speed doesn't go above 40mbps and has never done even though I have a line estimate of 65mbps. I do use a wireless connection, but have tested on a wired and got the same results. Running out of ideas to solve this speed issue. The line wasn't stable to begin with, but now seem to be more stable. I have tried 3 different routers and all give similar speed results. I have noticed that my upload speeds are fine. Normally get around 17mbps.
Any ideas what could be causing this.
My results are:
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download Speed
39.42 Mbps

0 Mbps 77.44 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 39.42 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16 Mbps-77.44 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 77.44 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
12.84 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 12.84Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Re: Half the speed of estimate

Hi there,
I've just been running some diagnostics and making a few checks and I can't find an obvious reason for the reduced speeds. I can see you've raised a fault which is advisable as to where to take things next.
We would advise seeing what the speeds are like after making a direct PPoE connection to the modem in the meantime though:

Re: Half the speed of estimate

I have tried the test on my router with a wired connection and seem to get to 70mbps, so must have done something wrong earlier. Looks like my wireless connection can not match my wired connection. I use a Wireless N adapter and seems to get connection speed of 270mbps. Could there be something wrong with my wireless settings? I have tried changing channels and also my router is only around 10-15 metres away.
Is it possible to get 70mbps on wireless?
Thanks

Re: Half the speed of estimate

Seem to have sorted the problem. I am getting close to 70mbps now. Seems to be the router which had an issue, so used my old buffalo router and made a few setting changes and all is good for the moment.
Thanks

Re: Half the speed of estimate

Hi there,
Glad to see that your speeds have improved, there were still a few disconnections last night;

I'd monitor over the next few days and see how it it is.
