No difference. I think the problem lies in the Modem because when I select anything other that 192.1681.1. the modem green led of Lan2 does not show. Also I do not get the characteristics expected when I fo;;ow the instructions when unpowering pressing and holding the reset and then powering the modem .
There is definately something within the Modem that prevents it being got at which is different to the ones that respond to the hacking setup.

With the laptop connected to the modems port 2 and the modem switched on, open a command prompt and type the following command.
Please post the result.

That is a dynamic IP address assigned by the Technicolor router.
You must assign a static IP in the correct range before you can unlock the modem.
This may help

a) You need to connect to a ethernet port of the TG582n not the (red) ewan port. The TG582 now acts as a switch not a router
b) You need to disable DHCP in the TG582's GUI.

You're not plugged in to the ewan socket so don't go through the routers internet interface so those lights will not work.
You're now only using the switch part of the router.
Make sure you've disabled DHCP in the router or you will have problems.

The wireless router is working fine from Lan1 port of the Modem.
The PC has a connection from Lan2and is showind the speed is fully 100mb but I think I have lost the plot in setting the ethernet adaptor the static or auto settings. Is still 192.168.1.100 & the gateway to 192.168.10 because I can't now connect to the internet. If you power down the modem is it likely to lose my preset parameters setup as described in your ealier post.?

Now change it to "obtain IP address automatically" then reboot the PC.

Yesterday I lost all my phones in the house.Plusnet have declared there is a fault in the exchange with the dial tone missing.Obviously the fibre and last 500 yds of copper is ok because the internet is working .I did think initially I would have some explaining to do to Open Reach if the broadband modem had done something to the exchange!!
