For the whole day, it's been down. DNS doesn't resolve, and even when I add it to hosts file and change the router DNS to OpenDNS servers (as suggested by some) it appears not to work.
BUT - from reading various blogs/tweets, it appears to be mainly Plusnet users that are affected. For example: http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/www.order-order.com sees it just fine.
Now, I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but this was the blog that cost NuLabour between 5 and 8 percentage points depending which poll you watch, and has The Labour Party spitting blood. Just seems a bit odd that it's only Plusnet that seems to have the problem. On the very same day as Guido is due to make a big announcement. Not suggesting anything, but it would be good to have access back!
If anyone knows a way round it, that would be nice - given up on finding a proxy that works!

Hmmm, well, spurred on by what you said, I went for a reboot of everything this time, and I'm now on using OpenDNS servers. So, it's Plusnet servers that are squiffy here.

The same thing happened last Sunday - unavailable until late evening. Either he takes it down for a while or, more likely, there are just too many hits during Sunday morning and afternoon. (After everyone has read about it in the Sunday papers?)

Guido Fawkes' website (order-order.com) was inaccessible via Plusnet for approximately 24 hours.
If it had been another time - say three weeks ago - or another website, I wouldn't have been so concerned.
However, Paul Staines' (Guido's) work could well result in the downfall of this government. He also announced on the 18th that he was going to produce more evidence and revelations in the "smeargate" saga the following day - precisely when the site was suddenly unreachable via this ISP.
I managed to get onto the site via a proxy, on the way I happened to bump into other Plusnet users similarly affected. Neither myself, or any of the other users apparently had any issues with any other site.
I believe people on other ISPs were affected, however I was struck by the number of people who identified themselves as Plusnet users unable to access the site (no one else mentioned any other ISP). The whole thing appeared to be a very strange DNS issue.
I hope you have a good explanation for this Plusnet. I wouldn't want to think my local ISP has decided to get involved in national politics and dirty tricks....

I've seen Guido's site go down frequently before through too much traffic. This was different - the host couldn't even be pinged.

Yes, couldn't reach it yesterday, until I switched on a proxy. Then no problem.  Exactly the same today (Monday) around 15:00. Switched on proxy, no problem.  Switched back & forth 3 times. Same each time. Without proxy - timeout, with proxy - direct contact.
OK about 1 hr later.

What you describe here certainly sounds isolated given others can access it without problem. In order to look into it further though, we need some further details.
First off. Have you raised a support request?
If note, do so. I would also provide any diagnostics from my questions below in it and request a dial-test be performed. It may be a little to late to organise this for tonight, but if you call the support centre (08451400200), this can be arranged.
A dialtest is when we connect using your account username and password on our test ADSL computer and replicate any problems you may have. The account details are used to replicate this at account level. We perform dialtests overnight, as you will need to power off your modem during the test or at the very least, unplug it from the phone line. Overnight is obviously the best time when people are unlikely to use the service. The tests are carried out by our nightshift, normally between midnight and 7am.
Now for the diagnostics, which need to be done during the diagnostics.
Click Start and then Run. In the box type "cmd" and click OK. The 4 commands and action below should be performed in the box that comes up.

nslookup www.order-order.com 212.159.13.49
nslookup www.order-order.com 208.67.222.222
Copy the output from each of the commands and paste the output here. From this, we will get a better idea what exactly is and is not happening.
