I have a Canon wireless printer which I am trying to use with Google Cloudprint. Unfortunately it works for a few days then Cloudprint reports that the printer is offline even though I am printing successfully over my home network. Advice on the internet is that this is caused by an inadequate implementation of the Cloudprint specification in the Canon firmware and that a workaround is to assign a static IP to the printer. My question is: How do I reserve a block of addresses in the 582n from which I could choose the static IP for the printer?

Not sure why you'd need to reserve a block of IP addresses, you can set a single one within the user interface of the router for any device.
