Getting an estimate of line speed

Hi, there used to be a BT utility that would give an estimate of the expected line speed for one's postcode but that doesn't seem to be available any more. I'm currently on a copper line from the exchange and have been thinking of upgrading to fibre as there is a cabinet a few hundred yards away. Does anyone know of a utility that can give me an estimate of the expected speed or any other way of obtaining one?

Re: Getting an estimate of line speed

You can get an estimate based on phone number, postcode or full address here:  http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/
Note that postcode is the least accurate of the 3 generally.
