Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

There seem to be a lot more frequent drops and at higher percentages than I had previously noted across all gateways (except THN-AG2 and PCL-AG02). Is it just my lack of observation or is this really the case especially as these occurred over the weekend?

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

Hi Chris,
It looks that way, but it does appear to have just been a blip (which has happened before).
The fact that the spike is directly after midnight suggests that it's scheduled downloads, which may be as a result of either Mr. Gates or the almighty Jack Bauer.

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

No, not the at/immediately after midnight ones, they're regularly there, mostly at those levels (though some seem slightly longer and higher); its ALL the other ones.

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

Ok, now I'm confused.
There doesn't appear to be anything on PCL-AG02 apart from at midnight last night?

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

That was fairly low level, as they seem to have been on this gateway for a while, but I've just noted there wasn't one at midnight the night before?
Anyway what about all the other drops on the other gateways?

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

I'm such an idiot! Cheesy
The increase in traffic over the weekend is a bit strange, although some of which could and will be attributed to the beta release of Windows 7.  Over than that, I casn't think of anything that would bring about an increase in traffic.

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

I had a look in there after I'd had a think about what else was going on.
Apart from 24 & Windows 7, I can't think of that much going on.  Possibly the big Chelsea - Man United game yesterday.
There was also the snooker and the Darts on, which might have generated a fair bit of streaming traffic.

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

Shhhh. You'll give people ideas!
I'm watching the snooker now (but on the box, yes I do have a licence!).
So I take it nothing fell over at the w/e then, it was just peaks in traffic. I note there's been nothing since 0200ish except the VOIP/Gaming drop at 1230 ish on PTN-AG02 (itself very unusual!).

The gateways are in three different buildings.
Edit: Telehouse East and Telehouse North are in docklands, City Lifeline is close to Liverpool Street station.

Not sure, you could find out with a Wireshark capture though.

Re: Gateway Packet drops higher than normal?

the map pack download and a streaming video from the inside xbox section comes back as 0x60.
which class is 0x60?
as that is not on the wireshark page.
