Have you been using any P2P programs?
Some of them encrypt their traffic and try to make it look like VoIP so that it gets a higher priority through certain network filters.
Also, things like Skype may be categories as such.  Possibly even MSN messenger?

in uTorrent, go to
Options -> Preferences -> Bittorrent
At the bottom, is "Protocol Encryption" set to "Enabled"
If it is, set is to Disabled and it should then appear correctly.
(I use it disabled all the time and it has no negative affect really)

Re: GULP!!! Usage is showing 1GB of broadband phone traffic and I dont use it

I run Azureus (a P2P application) as encrypted. Some hosts are set to only talk to encrypted peers. This is quite understandable, given the activities of certain organizations trying to use scare tactics to frighten all P2P users.
I have about 1GB of P2P usage - this appears under the "other" category. About 4MB appears as VOIP (although I don't use VOIP) and about 8MB has appeared as FTP (although I haven't used FTP this month).
No traffic has been identified as P2P.
Strangely - because the majority usage of P2P is peak hours, my VOIP/FTP traffic is shown as off-peak.
