G.dmt Framing Changes Every Few Days.

Every few days the G.dmt Framing changes.
The 'D' component goes between ' 32  8 ' and ' 64  8 '
With the '32' setting, system syncs at a min SNR of around 9dB and sync speed is ca. 7500kbps.
With the '64' setting, system syncs at a min SNR of around 5dB and sync speed is ca. 8800kbps.
Why is this happening? The IP Profile never gets chance to stabilize.
Apart from this things, are quite stable at both settings but the '64' gives a much higher sync speed and errored seconds are still quite low.

Ok, that's a bit odd!
The "D" I believe is the interleaving depth.  What's really odd is that you're getting a faster sync speed with the interleaving depth being doubled!  I would expect the number of non-corrected errors to be lower though.

Re: G.dmt Framing Changes Every Few Days.

The faster sync speed is the result of the lower SNR.
Is there a relationship between 'interleaving depth' and minSNR?

Re: G.dmt Framing Changes Every Few Days.

I wouldn't have expected so, no.
But there is a (good) chance, that becuase the interleaving is working more actively, causing the number of errors to reduce, the DLM has calculated that your line is more stable and thus dropped the SNR.
In two sentences I've managed to totally contradict myself, good work Smiley

Thanks, we're learning all the time.
I think you second sentence is correct in my case.
