Wow. That was quick. From ADSL+ to VDSL on FTTC in 30 minutes from initial engineer call to being back online. Brilliant.
BT Openreach engineer called from cabinet to say he was ready to do switch there. A few minutes later he was at house and changing the master socket. His testing completed fine.
I did a quick reconfig of the Billion 7800 WiFi router to switch it from ASDL+ to the EWAN PPoE connection to the Openreach Modem and rebooted.
Worked immediately.
Quick speed test, hit 43Mbps down 15Mbps up. Hell of an improvement on the 10/0.5 I had before. Hopefully will improve over the next 24 hours, and then some more over 2 weeks.
I do have a wifi router from Plusnet but will keep that in the draw as a backup for the Billion, just in case.
