Has anyone been using a VOIP router Like the old Fritz 7140 and 7170 instead of the N150?
I really missed my Fritz box 7140 when I changed over to Fibre, but I noticed that in the set up you can change the setting to allow PPoE user name and password when connecting. To the fibre.......yes it is true you lose a bit on the Wifi at 54G+ instead of N WiFi................but I did a speed test and I'm still as fast as the N150 with all the features of this great little integrated voice router.

The Fritz!Box 7390 can certainly be used this way though I'm not sure which, if any, of the older models allow LAN1 to be configured as an ethernet WAN port.
