Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

I realise I'm not the only one with this issue - after a day or so, my Fibre speeds have remained the same - disappointing and less than ADSL with PN. 8Mbps d/l is a "bit poor"... I occasionally get 15Mbps. No rhyme or reason why it varies - this is with the BT Wholesale test.
I'm also on 10/40 profile and should be on 20/80 - my next door neighbour is on the same package from BT and gets 15/55.
Can something be done please! I can't wait for the DLM - which seems to be dysfunctional anyway - or sitting on the phone for "a long time" with PN CS.
Thanks

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

I'll get your product moved over to 80/20, this will complete tomorrow for you.
Your current sync rates are at: Download - 40Mb/s, Upload - 10Mb/s The DLM is not limiting your speed.
Are your current tests over a wired connection?

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

Yes, they are wired results. This morning (6.15am) I was getting 10-11Mbps down over 3 BTW tests and 9.5Mbps up (which seems to say the same).
For info, my ADSL with PN was 14/1 solid.

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

Now here's curious - I asked my wife at home to run a speedtest on her phone and is getting 33-35Mbps down... she's done it several times on different servers and the results are similar.
I think I'll power cycle the router when I get home.
Thanks for the 80/20 order...

Let us know how you get on, you profile will move to 80/20 tomorrow so it will be good to see the results of that.

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

As of 6am this morning -
According to BTW, d/l = 38Mbps, IP 46.9Mbps, u/l 12.5Mbps, IP 20Mbps
Rather better!
Thanks

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

What the????  It's been bouncing from 2-5 Meg today...

BTW:
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download Speed
5.69 Mbps

0 Mbps 46.1 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5.69 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 36.88 Mbps-46.1 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 46.1 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
10.89 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 10.89Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

I can't see anything in the Service Status to suggest a problem anywhere...

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

OK, thanks.
Obviously rather restrictive, particularly on Catch Up TV....!
Weird how every issue I have had has only been with download speeds. Upload and ping have always been rock solid.

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

Can someone PLEASE look in to this. I've had FTTC for a week and a half now and I'm STILL getting joke speeds - which I rather dislike paying for. The upload speed has dropped now too... I'm the only "user" at this time.
The open ticket claims there is no problem...

BTW reports similar.
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download Speed
3.57 Mbps

0 Mbps 46.1 Mbps

Upload Speed
6.58 Mbps

Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 6.58Mbps
Additional Information:

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

Dan responded to your Fault Ticket (Ticket: 85666773) yesterday.
The last BT Speedtest that you ran at the time of testing showed that you were getting throughput speeds in the region of 38Mb. If this is not the case, can you please the BT Speedtester at http://speedtest.btwholesale.com including 'Further Diagnostics' and reply back to the Fault Ticket so that our Faults Team are aware that you're still seeing issues?

Re: Fibre speeds worse than ADSL at the moment....

The BT Speedtest reults from last night are included above?
I ran it again this morning and achieved 15 d/l and 7 u/l
Which is still very poor.
I do get bursts of 43M d/l and 12 u/l but these are very infrequent.
I cannot live with 3-5 d/l - there has to be a problem somewhere. On PN ADSL i consistently got 14/1 for 17 months, and my line is "perfect".
