Fibre speed dropped

Hi All
Few weeks ago I got a new BT Homehub 5 type B and been working fine till last weekends outage .
When first connect I was get around 78 mbps download data rate ( on helpdesk tab in hub manager )
After a week it seemed to be very stable at around 73 which was great ...until last weeks outage where it went down to 65 ...then this week it came back up to around 67 .
Well this morning I found the internet was disconnected ...then it reconnected but could not open speedtest.net web site so gave up and went to work ...but did look at data rate and was at 59 .
Came home and got internet now but data rate still at 59 .
I know this week that there has been BT maintenance so guessing this why the disconnects .
Had no problems with speed over last 8 months ...this only happened since last weekend.
But what I want to know is will the speeds go back up by there selves ?
Plusnet say they cannot reset it ....but I know BT can as I had problems beginning of year and they reset it ...so why can plusnet not request this ?
Any help most appreciated
