Fibre: can I switch it off?

I think I'm correct in saying that if I'm away for a few days I can turn my router off without a subsequent hit to my speed. Is this right?
And can I turn off the fibre modem too?
TIA!

Re: Fibre: can I switch it off?

You **SHOULD** be perfectly fine to safely disconnect,
Connect to the bipac, let it disconnect the session, let the modem "relax" (stop flashing, mine seems to take 2-5 seconds after the bipac says im disconnected) then whap off the power.
Should be hunky dory Smiley i wouldnt recommend doing it daily, but if its off for a few days i think you should be fine Smiley

The thought of this made me chuckle, I have to be honest Smiley

Re: Fibre: can I switch it off?

Cool. Thanks folks.
I sometimes turn the router off overnight, though the modem stays on. But for longer absences they are both going off.
