Hi thanks for the replies all.
The installer is coming tomorrow so I will se what he (or she) suggests once they've looked at it.
I think the worst that could happen is that I ask them to leave 20 -30 metres of cable on my lounge floor and I drill some holes and re-route the data extension myself once it's all up and running. There really is no route at present from the master socket to my office that is under 30 metres and accessible.
