Fibre, Slow uploads

Hi, I use a ftp server but when i upload, i cannot get faster than 1 mbps.
I use fibre and the speed test says I can get 8 mbps.
I have just heard about the pro add-on.
Will I need this?
Thanks.

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

What are the results of the BT Speedtester here: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com? (Please ensure you complete 'Further Diagnostics').

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

Hi, 40.38 mbps down
8.37 mbps upload
35.13 Ping Latency
I am uploading to Video Streaming sites but can only get 1 mbps.
I upgraded to include the pro add-on on the 17/01/14 but no difference. I do not know how long it takes to activate the pro add-on but no change in speed yet.

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

are you sure that the upload to streaming sites is megabits per sec Mbps rather than megabytes per sec MBps
Pro addon has no effect at all on upload

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

Currently at 950-1000 kbps
I have installed the thinkbroad speed test program.
But I also did the bt wholesale speed test as recommend.

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

The speedtest didn't show any problems
I have a couple of thoughts
is your antivirus program scanning your uploads
Is this applicable http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,118234.0.html

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

I have disabled my eset protection, Antivirus & Firewall and then tried uploading with filezilla but no difference.
I have tried drag & drop and also flash uploads to the site but no speed difference also uploaded to a cloud backup server but no speed difference.
I am getting confused because the thinkbroad speedtester program, I installed is showing in the graph that I'm uploading at nearly 10 mbps but filezilla is saying 950-1000 kbps.
I am uploading a 350mb file and is taking 5-6 minutes.
I have included a screenshot of filezilla, speed is shown on the bottom panel.
The speedtester program.
I hope this helps.
I am uploading to Vidup site.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Fibre, Slow uploads

This seems to be a confusion between MB/s (megabytes) and Mb/s (megabits)
Your image shows that you are uploading at 1.1MiB/s which (as there are 8 bits per byte) is 8.8Mb/s
