How do they compare to the actual broadband speed that should be expected when running a computer speed test?

Maximum Stable Rate (KBPS): 6816
Fault Threshold Rate (KBPS): 5452
But my speed is only running at 1400, and nobody seems to bothered about it as BT Speedtest claims are up to 1mbps.
Am I missing something? Surely if FTR is 5.4mbps, that is what my line should be capable of recieiving?

Quote from: RealAleMadrid Never mind MSR and FTR, post your full router stats, connection speeds, attenuation etc. Or raise a speed fault with PLUSNET
Why do you say never mine MSR and FTR? Surely they are relevant? As I understand it from the link posted earlier line speed should be above FTR, but I was hoping someone could confirm this for me.
How do I find full stats (e.g. attenuation) on a TP Link router please? All I can find is line rate.

Are the speed tests do via wireless or wired?

Please advise how to get the stats you require from the TP Link TD-W8960N v3.
All tests done via wired.

Quote from: Anotherone Can you hear any crackling or other noises on the phone line when using the phone? If so report a phone fault, but don't mention the broadband or you get the run around.
There is a very small bit of background noise if you listen hard but nothing major. i.e. it's not dead silent but probably 98%.
