I have been keeping an eye on FTTC for the Smallburgh, Norfolk, exchange scheduled for August.
This seemed to be good news however I now see that PN may not be able to upgrade my connection. Here's a link to a property search; if you have to, click on the broadband speed test then look under for the table that purports to list likely high speed suppliers.
My question to anyone listening at PN is - what likelihood, if any, is there of being able to upgrade via PN or must I switch ISP?
TIA.

When FTTC is available, it should be available to all ISP's (that use BT's Network).
When there's a date set for the service to become available, it'll be displayed at https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/

There's no FTTC yet, however, it looks as though BT have acknowledged your exchange as a future exchange they want to make Fibre enabled at - that's a good thing.
It could be a year or more off, from experience though.

That's odd, Chris, as I understand the exchange is to upgraded in August, certainly by the end of 2014.
However, I have been alerted to another problem.
I'm almost certain that we are on an Exchange Only line i.e. we're connected directly to the exchange not via a cabinet. It looks as though the FTTC upgrade may deliver 60+Mbps to cabinet connected users but have no impact on EO users (though possibly ADSL2 may then be available giving a small increase to 20 or so).
Any thoughts, folks?
