FTTC speeds slowly dropping

Hi all,
I migrated to an FTTC service approx 4 weeks ago. I was quoted that my sync speeds would be 62 down and 20 up. For the first couple of days this is exactly what I got.
Over the last few weeks my sync speeds have steadily dropped and they are now 36Mbps down and 10Mbps up. Restarting the router etc appears to have no impact.
BTW Performance test shows the following:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 32.68 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16 Mbps-35.09 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 35.09 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 7.13Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps
Would a line reset achieve any improvement in speed?
Many thanks.

Re: FTTC speeds slowly dropping

Hi shamus,
A DLM Reset would push the speeds back up, but it's only likely to be a temporary fix if I'm honest. We would ideally be looking to see what has caused the sync speeds to drop so much.
Have you noticed any disconnections at all?

Re: FTTC speeds slowly dropping

Hi Chris,
The only disconnections that I have noticed is when the up time of the PPPoE session resets.
Could we try a DLM reset?

Re: FTTC speeds slowly dropping

If you could raise a fault at http://faults.plus.net they'll be able to raise some further in depth checks on your line and if they feel that the DLM needs resetting, they will be able to get you an engineer out to do that for you.
