FTTC speed halved over last few months

Hi there,
I have been a FTTC client for several months now. When we installed the service, I was getting 39Mb/10Mb up/down, After a few weeks/months this came down to about 35/9. However it seems now that we are getting something like 23/8. We are paying for up to 70mb down - why has our speed dropped so much?
I posted this question to the support site 4 days ago and still nothing.
Can a plusnet engineer (or anyone else) on the forum help?

I'd report a fault through the member centre.

I had a similar problem which, after a fault report, was fixed by a DLM reset & an engineer's visit to change both the master socket & the BT modem.
