Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

I'm glad that's been sorted out for you.
As a network change has been made, I'm going to see what options we've got to get a DLM Reset sorted out for you - DLM could take a while to bring you back to where we'd like you to be.
Leave it with me and I'll see what I can do Smiley

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

Mark,
A DLM reset on FTTC needs a broadband engineer visit.  Crazy
You might be left with waiting for the DLM to sort things out, unless (as per last post) Chris can find some magic.

Damn! I was hoping for the digital care team to have a DLM magic wand somewhere in the office Tongue

That's true in most cases Smiley
Like any process, there has to be a workaround. There is a team within BT Openreach who are able to do remote DLM Resets, in case an engineer doesn't or isn't able to do one on the day. I'm seeing if I can get them to do it, given the circumstances.
This isn't normal process, but I don't see the point sending out another engineer solely for a DLM Reset Smiley

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

Chris,
If you take the whole of my quote, it is true all of the time...
EITHER
"You wait for the DLM"
OR
"Chris can find some magic"

WOW BTOR have a work around process which deals with the foibles of the real world - GREAT NEWS - is it new news learnt from your recent sojourns to BT's smokey towers in the Deep South?
If you can pull off this bit of magic, then you should think about a try out on "Britain's got talent".

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

Haha, well I'm quite happy to work with BT Wholesale and BT Openreach and they fully appreciate when such issues fall outside of the normal process and they can be accommodating - it's all about the relationship you have between ISP and supplier Smiley
I wish I was magic, that'd be pretty awesome!

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

It would appear that someone is working on my line right now...at least I hope that's it as I've got a oscillating tone on the line which sounds like the BT testers!

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

Could that be the call minder message waiting tone?
See http://www.plus.net/support/phone/call_features.shtml#voicemail for instructions on managing this feature.

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

Definitely not, it's there even if I ring 17070 or any other number.  Sounds exactly like what the engineer was using to find my line in the junction box.

And now it's gone, hopefully a nice engineer doing a DLM reset Smiley

Re: FTTC disconnects, crackly line and lower speed

Right, that's been sorted for you.
That's increased from 27.9Mb to 65.7Mb. I've updated your speed profile so a quick restart of your router should do the trick to bring your speeds back up Smiley
