I just moved home and after some issues I am back on line
I am using my old openreach Huawei modem that I had stored when I moved to fibre. The new address has only FTTC so I went back to the old connection
My modem reports a very safe 20,1 dB download with resulting capped speed while it has zero SNR in upload and is connecting very fast for FTTC
Connection is stable looks like the new FTTC do not do anything to improve speed after over a week without disconnections

Openreach reported a maximum of 67 mbps but this looks unlikely with 20dB SNR margin
Plusnet says this is within the guaranteed speed which was a low 40 Mbps so don't want to do anything

Do you not have a PN Hub2? You must have the cab in your front garden with those attenuation figures - although all four of them at 6.8 make me a little suspicious.
Does whatever router you are using have any more useful data?

The cabinet is not far anyway the snr margin is a bit high
There are almost no HEc or fec error on download but plenty on upload
Line is very stable with no blips to be fair I haven’t experienced any issues as almost all my subscriptions are no longer 4k

Which router are you using then - the data you posted in your original post is a little 'sparse', shall we say?

I use an openreach modem Huawei Echolife combined with an Asus RT-AX86S which when I had fiber to the premise was connected directly to the WAN.
Those are the statistics of the modem

Path0 is the WAN
Almost no error that show a very solid downstream and plenty of upstream HEC as the SNR margin is zero
The plusnet hub does not go any faster and in terms of performance is pathetic compared to my Asus. I have around 25 wifi clients

Fair enough - I may be wrong - I have no experience/knowledge of ASUS kit, but I seem to recall from previous posts where ASUS kit was involved that its figures could be a little misleading.
I think I'll leave this for someone with greater knowledge.

They sent me a hub2 that has nothing useful
Nothing useful in what way? It is the defacto reference router for Plusnet services. I think those stats for the router you are using look suspect - sight of what the Hub 2 reports would be more reassuring.
The reported ZERO US SNRM is very suspicious as is the massive HEC counter. I would not rule out a defective router.

@Townman The stats are from the unlocked Huawei HG612 modem GUI which is known to be bug ridden so are mostly wrong.
Correct stats can be obtained using the telnet xdslcmd info --stats command.

Modem / router are semantics in context which is not worth your nitpicking. Inaccurate stats are far from helpful in diagnosing line performance issues.
Good luck in chasing your own solutions with a broken measuring stick.

So after having people bashing around but not telling me anything useful I found the way forward
The plusnet hub2 can be used in bridge mode (nobody had suggested this when i said I needed LAN speed and reach)
After doing that and connecting a LAN cable to another port of my asus I got the real stats

Well those stats look more sensible.
As for advice that the Hub2 can be used in bridge mode … you were so adamant that it is a useless piece of junk … there seemed little point bothering trying to reason.
The stats reported by the hub 2 are markedly different to those from the rather old device you were betting the bank on. One wonders if there was more going wrong with the device than just questionable stats.
Using the Hub2 as a baseline set of stats I would expect somewhat better performance. My line reports 19.9dB attenuation but runs at 80Mbps with a SNRM of 4.2dB.
