FTTC Speed Doubling?

Hi All,
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere - Unbelievably I cant see it!  Will Plusnet FTTC speeds double along with BT's?  Any place to opt in/out sign up? Anything we need to do?
http://www.btplc.com/news/articles/showarticle.cfm?articleid={7b905435-393a-46ee-9dec-dfdf6cec01ca} (BT equivalent consumer product going live today)
Best Regards
Neil

I saw this too!
PC Pro has an item on it here:-
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/broadband/374023/bt-upgrades-speed-for-infinity-fibre-broadband
Likewise, I'd be very keen for a speed increase- particularly in the upload direction- something the PC Pro article seems to have more details on.
What do we need to do plus.net  Grin  ?Huh

Re: FTTC Speed Doubling?

Plusnet hasn't released its 80/20 product yet but has been trialling it for some time - see the Fibre Trials section of the forum. AFAIK you can still sign up for the 80/20 trial.
If they do offer it as a free upgrade that would be wonderful, but it's entirely a Plusnet business decision regarding how to charge for it - it will be costing Plusnet £3 a month more from Openreach.

Re: FTTC Speed Doubling?

thanks Kevin - much appreciated - I am not sure what the extra costs will be but I am happy to pay - I guess it will be 5 or 6 quid extra a month as plusnet need to make a reasonable margin!

Hi guys,
Take a look at http://trials.plus.net and have a read on the 80/20 section.

Re: FTTC Speed Doubling?

BT are offering 80/20 to its existing customers for free, as long as they commit to another 12 months with them...

I thought it was 18 months (from time of 'upgrade').
