the above is a copy of speedtest results since fibre installed upto today, i did have issues in beginning which plusnet helped with and done all they could which led me to find out that even though there is a bunch on new fibre cabinets around, im currently connected to a cabinet 1 mile away with exchange another mile from cabinet (2miles from house) and apart from moving there is nothing that can be done.
i know that plusnet are not responsible for my physical connection but i think it is time that someone is held responsible i.e BTW, im fed up with the advertising of UPTO speeds, surely in this day and age that when you choose fibre a new line should be installed to the closest cabinet to give you a chance of actually achieving these UPTO speeds, as you can see im getting a quarter of what im paying for, 40/10 or even an eigth if you consider 80/20. Perhaps it may be time consider paying for speeds you actually get rather that what someone says you may be able to get.

Re: FTTC 1 year on

Hi paulflood,
I've just checked your line and got the following results:
Downstream Speed: 17.9 Mbps
Upstream Speed: 4.3 Mbps
Profile Band: 11.2M-22.4M Downstream, Interleaving Low - 2.5M-5M Upstream, Interleaving Off
From what I can see, the speeds look about right, given your speed estimate. Do you get similar results to those seen connecting directly via <a href="http://community.plus.net/library/broadband/fibre-help-how-to-set-up-a-pppoe-dialler-in-vistawindows-7/">PPPoE</a>?

Re: FTTC 1 year on

Are you running those speed tests wired or wirelessly?
You are still within the speed estimates of your line. Unfortunately, cross talk can have quite a negative impact on line performance and a some people do see decreased levels of performance as their cabinets fill up. This is one reason why there is quite a big range given in those speed estimates.
