FOL Service Updates

I am looking for FOL Service Updates. I had them bookmarked for easy reference but the forums have been terminated and these forums have replaced them. Can anyone help me to find the service updates for my ISP, please. I think they should be made easy to locate.

Re: FOL Service Updates

Hi there,
Are you referring to this forum?   The forums aren't closed, they're just read only.
Please forgive me if I have misunderstood and you are referring to something else.

Re: FOL Service Updates

This link should give you access to all the service status archives for Free-Online.
There are similar ones for Force9, PlusNet and MetroNet

Re: FOL Service Updates

more specifically, I am referring to these : http://portal.free-online.net/central/forums/viewforum.php?f=1
The impression I get is that these are read only and are no longer being updated. Am I reading it wrongly? Are these still live and likely to be updated? If so, the box at the top is misleading.

Re: FOL Service Updates

Sod it. If they're going to start making it difficult to locate information then I'll just raise a ticket every time I want information. The customer service department can do the research, after all, I'm the one paying them.

Re: FOL Service Updates

I'm not sure why the service status tool is more difficult than checking in a forum? It's located in the member centre too.
There is also this link which may be helpful aswell.

Re: FOL Service Updates

You can get the status information in lots of places:
- An RSS Feed is available at http://usertools.free-online.net/status/status.xml
- Email updates are available at http://usertools.free-online.net/status/email.php
- An archive of postings is available at http://usertools.free-online.net/status/archive/
- You can find them all at http://portal.free-online.net/supportpages.html?a=2 as well.
We discussed the Service Status forum internally earlier on today, and even on the busiest forum (PlusNet) there was only ever at most 20 people reading each topic. On Free-Online it's 2 is the most, with the majority being 1 and 0!

I can see the logic behind that. Can I take this opportunity to point out that the deductions from my bank account by free-online have been in the magnitude of one or two per month (sometimes none). By the same logic do you think they will just cancel the direct debit?  Grin
