Explorer issues

Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum, I recently set up my wireless broadband and for some reason explorer would not connect to the internet (even though I was connected via wireless) I had safari installed on my laptop and this works fine, however my itunes wont connect to the internet now...
Can someone give me some help or advice as I'm not the greatest with IT related issues!!
Any advice or help would be greatly apriciated!!

Re: Explorer issues

You are going to have to give us a bit more information
What operating system
Which version of explorer
Which firewall
Is the problem on the laptop or another computer
Which router and have you tried wired
Did you have a dial up modem on the computer before broadband

Re: Explorer issues

Hi,
I'm using vista, it is version 8 of explorer, it seems to be both wired and wireless, I have tried connecting my iphone to the network and that doesnt seem to want to connect to the network either, the firewall is the windows one and I use avast anti virus, Ive only just signed up to plusnet so I've got the thompson router, Ive never used dial up on this laptop, I used to have 3 mobile broadband which worked fine with explorer,
Thank you for looking at this for me!

Re: Explorer issues

I have just booted into Vista (I normally use Windows 7)
If you click on Computer and then Network does it see the Thompson Router
If you open IE8 then select Tools, Internet Options then Connections and then LAN settings does it look like this picture
