Evening dropouts

pretty much every evening I get at least 4 dropouts.  Doesn't seem to happen during the daytime
Internet slows to a halt, router CRC errors increase until sync is lost.
It then resyncs, normally to different IP and gateway, without any drop in speed.
often the drops are at approx 19:30, 21:00, 22:30 ie just in the middle of streaming film  Angry
I'll post info from router, router stats and speed tests when I get home but in the mean time :
snr = 0.1
download speed is usually 10.5 mbs
router is in main (only) bt socket, new filters, silent phone test is not noisy

Re: Evening dropouts

Hi there,
Looking at the logs of your router's connections and disconnections it looks like it may be dropping in the early morning too:
<img src="http://ccgi.psmith12.plus.com/visradius/generated/image13687106304168.png"/>
I'm wondering if the times of the drops indicated on the graph are when the connection is in use?
Are you able to get your hands on another router to try as that's one likely thing that could be causing this.Other potential causes for these types of issues can be timed devices like central heating/boilers etc but I'd try and eliminate the router first if you can.

Re: Evening dropouts

I get the same problem now and again as mentioned in a previous post a few days ago.
It's just happened again - I clocked it at 14.37 and the connection has just been restored 14.52

Re: Evening dropouts

@smokeyone
If you look at your disconnections compared to @stevegow's there doesn't appear to be a pattern to the issues you're seeing:
<img src="http://ccgi.psmith12.plus.com/visradius/generated/image13687125142631.png"/>
So it looks like the disconnections have ramped up unfortunately since I looked at this post for you: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,114922.msg990117.html#msg990117
My next advice would be to head to our fault checker: http://faults.plus.net

Re: Evening dropouts

I realise you are trying to be helpful but I have been through all this before - a couple of months back -
true there does not seem to be a pattern but it does seem to be re-curring -

Re: Evening dropouts

OK, I'd still urge you to report it as the previous tickets have been closed. The fault checker is the quickest way to do so. If you'd rather not do that then give us a call on 0800 432 0200
Let us know if you have any issues beyond that.
Best regards,
Adam.

Re: Evening dropouts

Adam
I have the original plusnet supplied Thompson router
I'll try that for a few days
I don't believe that anything like heating is happening at those times.  Everything would be off after about 22:30
TIA

Re: Evening dropouts

No problem, any other router should be fine.
Just let me know when you've swapped them over and I'll check the connection logs again for you.
