For the last few evenings when I turn my laptop on after a few moments the line disconnects and then connects after a few mins and I have no problems after that yesterday my speed was over 9mbs today it is above 3mbs.Could someone check my line nothing as changed this end and there are no noises on my phone,my router goes straight into the main socket.

Is your laptop on mains power when you start it? If yes there may be a fault with the power converter and it's knocking off the DSL connection.
That's RPM to you!!

I've checked over your line and your connection speeds are looking absolutely fine - I can't see any issues from this end. As RPMozley, it is possible that your power adapter is faulty and is causing the issue, would you be able to try an alternative?

Thanks for your reply I have a four plug extension lead I will try another extension lead,come to think of it when I use my laptop downstairs in another socket I never have disconnetions so it seems this proves a point.
