No real problem as yet but only a couple of weeks after problems the speedcheck has started to drom from 6.4/7.2 down as low as 3000kbps. Not making a complaint, just interested what the speedtouch 780wl stats mean.
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 8,096
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]: 109.46 / 129.83
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 7.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 0.5 / 2.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 23.0 / 13.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / TSTC
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
If anybody has time to explain I would be grateful
Thanks

Crikey, do you live in the exchange or got a flat above it
No problem that I can see, throughput could be slowed if the exchange or sites you visit are busy at the time.

I am about 300 metres from island exchange which is linked by microwave to main exchange. BT engineer got 7600kbps with 3 tests coupled to my master socket which is what I am plugged into with no extensions. I use a homeplug to couple to LAN so I'll try disconnecting that to see if there is any improvement.
Thanks - Mick

Hi Mick,
There's cetainly nothing wrong with your line. As has been suggested, it's possible that there some congestion going on during the slower times of the day.

Thanks for that - mind at rest and no need to start checking wiring.
