Erratic results when logged into Facebook

Seem to have a problem with all the pages I subscribe to, I have tried to see if it is my computer or my browser but they are not as I have used different computers and browsers connected to Plusnet via cable and Wi-Fi with the same result all other web pages work fine. The problem is that Facebook is slow when I click to change the page I want to see or click on links or even click on notifications or to log out Facebook does not respond at all or is very sluggish and have to refresh the page! I have logged on with my computer connected my neighbour’s ISP (BT) via Wi-Fi and had no problem with my computers using Facebook, so I have come to a conclusion that it must be a problem with Plusnet. Could Plusnet be restricting access to Facebook somehow?

Hi scopio1,

There are no obvious causes we're aware of for this. Assuming you have a Windows based PC can you try running a traceroute to www.facebook.com

If you're also able to run one whilst using the BT connection that would be helpful to us.

I have the same issue, but initially thought it was an issue with Windows 10 or Microsoft Edge.

I have resurrected an old XP machine and the same issue.

I have now noticed that other sites are loading slowly, despite the line speed being high.

I have now tried tracert, with similar issues betwen the dsldevice and Plusnet.

Any news on the possible cause and rectification?

Facebook seems to be behaving as it should now. I did not do anything to rectify the problem as this is a PlusNet problem. Just done another tracert where only one hop timing out

After a short period when facebook behaved it has now gone back to being erratic again and cannot sign out as it hangs!

Is there nothing PlusNet can do to rectify this issue between the dsldevice.lan and PlusNet?

I've been having what sounds like the exact same problems with Facebook for a few days now, intermittant non-responsiveness and portions not updating as they normally would. Bizarrely, when FB started behaving itself after one of these episodes, Ebay suddenly decided to act in a similar manner! (I could access various other sites with no apparent problems.) Having been all round the houses checking every possible problem, the only answer seems to lie with Plusnet.

I see there's a status issue from yesterday but I've just been on Facebook and it was still acting odd until I went back 10 minutes later. (This is a desktop PC plugged straight into the broadband, and as I say, it's only certain sites that act up.)
