Re: Engineer just fitted fibre - will 15Mbps download speed improve?

Thanks Jelv I appreciate your help.  Anyone from PlusNet care to help as well please?
Ping latency was 19.5.
I tried to proceed to diagnostics but keep getting this error message :-
1. Best Effort Test:
Download Speed :48.98 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:
Upload Speed : 14.98 Mbps
Your speed test has completed and the results are shown above, however during the test an error occurred while trying to retrieve additional details regarding your service. As a result we are unable to determine if the speed you received during the test is acceptable for your service. Please re-run the test if you require this additional information.

I'll try again later.

it will gradually get less the more OVER SUBSCRIBED your exchange comes, so be happy with what you have for the time being....

Re: Engineer just fitted fibre - will 15Mbps download speed improve?

But Fibre is meant to be a max of 288 people per cab with it's own fibre to the exchange and ample bandwidth to accommodate it. If not then it's being mis sold
That being said I know of instances where low occupied cabs have their BW nicked to help the over subbed ones.

Re: Engineer just fitted fibre - will 15Mbps download speed improve?

A second BTOR engineer identified that the first had not done the job properly.  Roll_eyes  I think he'd fitted the modem to an extension.
The second visit chap seemed far more efficient and after an hour or so of more enlightened re-wiring my present speeds are now as follows:-

If they stay around that I think I'm good to go!
