I got an email from Plusnet, it goes like this :
Dear Plusnet Customer,
You are receiving this mail because you have an active virus-scanning
service, and either a banned file extension or an email containing
a virus has been sent to your address.
The item(s) in question picked up by the service was:
* *****************
and was sent to you from:
* ******************
The subject line of the mail received was:
* *****************
In order to protect you, this email has been stored on our servers
and quarantined. If you wish to retrieve this, please send an
email to unquarantine@quarantine.plus.com containing the following information;
----------------------- SUPPORT INFORMATION ----------------------
***********************************
----------------------- SUPPORT INFORMATION ----------------------
It should be possible to reply to this mail to retrieve your email,
as long as your email application includes this entire message in
the reply.
Kind Regards,
Customer Support.
It states where the email is coming from and where it was sent (me) and by whom.
I do not recognise the email addresses, and the subject was some kind of invoice from UPS????
I normally would disregard that kind of email as I would suspect some spam or worse, and it would be straight away be deleted if it had arrived in my inbox.
Furthermore it's the first time I get that kind of message from supposedly Plusnet, so can anyone tells me if this is a genuine email from Plusnet or else?

Yes it's genuine (the notification that is, not the email that got quarantined). Take a look here.
There's quite a bit of load on our mail servers at the moment so I suspect another batch of these emails may just have hit the platform.

Yes, it would be a genuine message from PlusNet. They quarantine emails containing what appear to be viruses and that certainly sounds like the sort of email that would contain one.
For an example of what it probably is, see this page which describes the latest version:
http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/ups.asp
Hope this helps.

Yes, that's one of them. I have checked my spam folder and found one email exactly the same as what's described on the linked website. I've never used UPS before. And never sent any packets in july. And it has a virus attached. Well done Plusnet to have intercepted it.
