Effect of Annex M on a longish line

I thought I would document this as I was moved onto Annex M by a slight accident - I am not going to name the guilty party but he knows who it was  Lips_are_sealed
My normal stats are  down/ up
Attenuation 49.5 / 26.5
Noise margin 6dB / 9dB
Speeds 3,800 - 4120 kbps / 888 - 900 kbps
On Annex M they changed to
Attenuation 58.5 / 28.6
Noise margin 6dB / 6dB
Speeds 2500 - 2900 kbps / 1050 - 1067 kbps
The bit tones graph changed from the upper one to the lower one
And the moral is - don't get Annex M unless you already have a really good downstream sync speed
