Dropping Connection

As mentioned in the past I use wireless connection because of where the main BT socket is located. After changing my PV I had problems with it so bought some Home Plugs and everything has been tickety boo for the 5 months.
Since Thursday I've had a yellow triangle appear on my connection icon and google telling me it can't load pages, when investigated windows tells me I have an incorrect IP profile assigned.
Not really understanding these things would this a problem at my end or further down the line?

Re: Dropping Connection

The problem is likely to be at your end.
How long is it since the router was last restarted?  What OS are you running?  If you run a dos prompt on the PC saving the problem and run 'ipconfig' (without the quotes, what address details are returned?
I have seen situations where the TG582n has difficulty assigning IP addresses after extended use - computers connect to the wifi ok but do not get an IP address.  Your problem description sounds similar to this experience.  Details from the ipconfig command will indicate if this is your Robles.

Re: Dropping Connection

Hi Townman thanks for your help -
I did a disconnect and recon through the router home page and it was fine last night but back to square one today - I'm using Windows 7 professional and the router is a Belkin Surf 300 the home plugs are Devolo.  To be honest whilst I am normally OK with operating and looking after my pc's some of the 'backgorund' stuff for the web I don't understand.
Is this what you asked for?
