Today I was reconnected at a sync rate of 3023 and I'm trying to work out why this might have happen and if there is any way to get my speed improved.
On 6th December I replaced the faceplate on my BT socket with one from ADSL Nation. Immediately after doing this I got the following stats:
Sync: 3023
Attenuation: 50.5
Noise Margin: 11.8.
BT profile: 2000
I asked for my Plus net IP profile to reset (it had been 1750) and Rami told me that I was on a banded profile but that "ILQ has just been changed to green" so my connection was likely to improve.
A few days later my IP profile increased to 2500.
On 12th December was reconnected with the following stats:
4544 kbps
Noise Margin: 11.9 db.
IP profile 4000
According to Rami this is due to my banding being increased to the next level up.
A couple more days and the noise margin dropped to about 6 and a few days later increased itself back up again.
This morning, I had been connected for at least 80 hours on a seemingly stable connection when I was dropped back to a sync of 3023, this time with SNR margin of about 17. I guess this means my band was lowered again? Why would this happen when I had a seemingly stable connection?
Any insight would be appreciated.
