Driving me nuts.....Routers

Long story short.  Wink
Old Belkin router (5-6 years old) - wifi throughout house & garden
New Edimax router -
1. (last week) wifi in house - not garden
2. (this week) no wifi even 3 steps away from router
Changed channel (numerous times), no change.
Its driving me mad, please please someone suggest something before i go and get a home hub....seriously!

Re: Driving me nuts.....Routers

  • If you have more than one wireless-enabled device then your new Edimax router has failed.  Sorry.  Or you have accidentally turned off wireless in the router settings - try a factory reset to make sure.

  • If it's just the one connection then the wireless failure (or accidental turn-off) could be at either end.  Can you see your neighbour's wireless networks?

Have lots of wireless enabled devices, none work.
Pretty clued up on the router settings, nothing changed in the week the signal went from Excellent to Zero.
Soooo frustrating

Have you tried the factory reset as suggested above?
Do you see the SSID of the router but can't connect or do you not see the SSID at all?

So it's perfectly simple.  If you reset the router to factory settings and it starts working again then that's okay.  If it still doesn't work then it's faulty and you'll have to take/send it back.
