Draytek 2760N VDSL router working fine on plusnet fibre

After various soul searching and googling, I've managed to replace the BT modem and PlusNet router with 1 device - the Draytek 2760N all in one VDSL Capable router.
Mandatory router upgrade out of the box - you can get the recent firmware from the Draytek website
IMPORTANT
You have to upgrade the firmware to 1.2.0.1
Then its just a question of modifying the web based front end setup as Admin as follows:
Navigate to Network > WAN > DSL:
Amend as follows:
Profile Type - VDSL2
Protocol PPPoE
Username [your unique id] @plusdsl.net
Password - Your PlusNet password
VLAN ID = 101
Also Under Network > WAN > DSL Mode > Physical Type
set it to 'VDSL2 Only' to improve connection speed
DNS
Under Network > LAN > Ethernet
DNS Server = Custom
I have 3 entries for the PlusNet DNS (you can add whatever DNS servers you prefer obviously)

Hope this helps anyone else with Drayteks 2760 \ 2860 series get connected faster than I did

Nice.  Keep us posted if it  holds  up well etc, i'm looking for something new to replace the default.

Draytek's latest SoHo router range supports both ADSL and VDSL broadband (including BT Infinity) as well as 3G/4G USB modems (as the main WAN, or as fallback).  A huge range of features includes gigabit LAN ports, NAS, VPN, full dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 support - and of course Draytek's famous firewall and web content filtering.

It was reduced at BT Shop \ Dabs to £97 over Christmas when I purchased it - crept back upto £140 since   but keep an eye out

Obviously with a big spend on a new router you may prefer to go for a router with 5ghz wifi. I found the Draytek 2.4Ghz MIMO a lot faster than the plusnet supplied router anyway.

5 GHz vs 2.4 GHz - The Bottom Line
5 GHz and 2.4 GHz are different wireless signaling frequencies that each have advantages for computer networking. Higher frequency networks are not necessarily superior to lower frequency ones, however. So-called dual band hardware combines the best of both types of hardware by integrating both types of radios into the product.
