Download speed had dropped

I'd noticed that my Rapidshare downloads weren't reaching more that 400 kps this morning when I'd expect around 700. Ran a PN speed check which confirmed speed was slow. Peak usage at 1.08GB so no issues there. Before you ask I also performed a BT test. Any ideas why this is happening?
Results of BT Test:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 4829 kbps

Re: Download speed had dropped

Any help out there? My speed is now varying from around 250 to 500 kbps mark. Something is definitely off though.

Please post the results of this speed check http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/ so we have some actual figures

Re: Download speed had dropped

Strange - whenever I've queried my speed in the past someone always asks for the BT speed test to be run as I'm told it's more accurate. The one time I pre-empt that request someone asks for the PN version  Roll_eyes
Anyway, my speed seems close to normal at the moment. I'll post back tomorrow if the problems reappear.

Re: Download speed had dropped

The BT speedtest has been a bit dodgy lately.
The reason for asking for the other test is that would pick up a problem at the Plusnet end as your BT test result wasn't too bad

I had quite a sensible result when I tried it this morning.
