Does this look like electrical interference?

Attached is a Routerstats graph of Errored Seconds for 15 minute periods (just captured). The ES rates are running phenomenally high at getting on for one a second. Normally the ES rate is around 10 per 15 minutes.
This tends to happen at lunchtimes (recently) and almost always between 4pm and 6pm. Because the line is a steady rate of increase it looks like constant interference to me. Anyone agree or suggest anything else?
The line is rock solid (except I've just rebooted to see if it made any difference, which it didn't) and holds around 3bB SNRM, synced at 13Mbps.

Sure enough, after lunchtime it disappears!

Almost certainly interference, problem will be finding the source.

Re: Does this look like electrical interference?

This list is not exhaustive but common culprits could be:
•  A current imbalance between two power carrying conductors (Earth leakage fault).
•  Faulty thermostats (Central heating, Immersion heaters).
•  Electrical power supply units (Laptops, Routers, Plasma TVs).
•  Industrial/Commercial power usage (Electric Railways, Electric fences, Electric motors).
•  Decorative electrical items (Christmas tree lights, Touch lights).
•  Security systems (PIR lights switching on and off).
•  Digital Communication Receivers (Satellite and Freeview set top boxes).
•  Internal power and telecoms cables run close together at the End User
It can be a pain to locate, but the list does provide the most common ones.

Re: Does this look like electrical interference?

I was just about to post something pretty much exactly as above. You could try the AM radio trick (tune to 612MHz to pick up interference as per http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/rein.htm) but that's not particularly accurate, might be worth a go though. Might also be worth asking your neighbours if they're seeing similar issues to see if it's affecting things over a wider area?
