We currently have 2 phones in the house and I was wondering about adding some extensions upstairs, when I remembered about RENs. I seem to remember BT supporting no more than 4 REN on a domestic line, and an ADSL modem was REN1. But what about a fibre modem? I suppose if I was at home I could lift it up and look underneath, but I'm at work so I thought I'd ask.
I've done some googling but it's all very vague, with people saying "shouldn't make a difference" and other saying they don't know. Plus with fibre being so new in the UK there's not that much info directly about fibre modems.
Anyone on here know for certain?

I'm not aware that ADSL modems have a REN (Ring Equivalent Number) as a normal ADSL modem do not monitor for a ring. Looked at 2 versions of BT supplied ADSL modems and both have no REN quoted in the spec.

Just to confirm what Anotherone states -
Broadband, FTTC or otherwise, works at RF superimposed on the phone line, and therefore has no effect on the 'loading', or REN, of the line.
