Does PlusNet use Traffic Management

Searching this Forum, I came across this announcement:

From 29th June 2017, Traffic Prioritisation is no longer applied to our current Unlimited and Unlimited Fibre products.

Is this still true for ADSL (non-Fibre) Unlimited product?

Re: Does PlusNet use Traffic Management

@Wheel_nut  The statement applies to all Unlimited products. Unlimited = ADSL and Unlimited Fibre  = FTTC.

Re: Does PlusNet use Traffic Management

@RealAleMadrid  Thank you for your clarification. I have been experiencing quite a bit of latency but that may be due to DNS issues.

Do most of you use the PlusNet DNS or is there a generally accepted better one?

Re: Does PlusNet use Traffic Management

Hi @Wheel_nut
There have been reports of the Plusnet Hub One being reluctant to pass DNS requests on.
However, these were typically stopping all DNS forwarding until rebooted.
Are you using a Plusnet supplied router?
If so the DNS servers are fixed to Plusnet ones. The only way to bypass is to set the DNS manually on each device.
I personally do not use a Plusnet supplied router and I have configured the router to use OpenDNS.
A friend of mine is happy using the Cloudfare DNS.

Re: Does PlusNet use Traffic Management

Hi Richard,

No I am using a BT Hub 6. I never even bothered to open the PlusNet supplied Router.

The BT Hub 6 has been rock solid for me for over two years and the WiFi strength is excellent for my needs.
