Does FTTC 'auto-adjust' speed

My FTTC broadband speed has dived recently from the high 30s to the low teens (Mbps), I'm guessing due to a one-off dodgy sync.  My question is will FTTC gradually re-sync to the highest attainable speed over the next few days like ADSL does?
Cheers

Re: Does FTTC 'auto-adjust' speed

Hi artisan,
The FTTC product does have a line management system similar to that of ADSL connections.  As such you may see some occasional fluctuations in speed.  The best thing you can do is keep your BT FTTC modem powered on permanently to ensure that your line speed is always set to the maximum possible value.  You should also monitor your line for frequent disconnections.  If your connection drops out regularly you should raise a fault on your account at http://faults.plus.net/ for investigation.
