I have been having problems with disconnections over the last 6 months or so, it got to the point with me testing everything I know and substituting my router for an answer.
I have recently phoned plusnet for an explanation to be informed by a pre-recorded message that there is a problem affecting a lot of members, ok now I know so I will try and put my hair back into my head. How about a detailed explanation to what the problem is/was.
regards

There hasn't been anything at the Plusnet end which would cause you to see disconnections over the last 6 months.
If you post the information asked for in this post and give us a description of your setup we may be able to help you identify what is happening.

Quote from: longshanks ok now I know so I will try and put my hair back into my head ....
"A problem affecting a lot of members" is code for a widespread internet outage somewhere in the country that has overloaded the capacity of the tech. support service to deal with incoming calls.

Hi longshanks,
I've posted a log of your connections;

It looks like you have fairly stable periods, is there any electrical devices on during times where you are having disconnections?
It may be worth raising a fault at http://faults.plus.net and running through the diagnostic checks and see if that helps, we can then investigate it from there.
Chris

If you are seeing more disconnections than are shown on that chart I'd ask whether you are connecting to the router wired or wireless. If it's wireless you need to try it wired to establish if it is the broadband that drops out or just your PC losing the wireless connection to the router.
